The Challenge | Rising Water
Sea levels are rising around the world, and approximately 40% of the human population lives in coastal zones. Your challenge is to help communicate the impacts of rising oceans by creating a visualization tool that illustrates the changes caused by rising sea levels in your region.
Bajo el mar
Our proyect is an App made to show people about water level increases. To make this happen, We've thought on use relevants monuments and representate how the raise of the water would cover them.
In order to make our proyect more realistic, but keeping the minimalist idea of the interface, we use ilustratons that respect the scale of the monument.
The App is being developed on Xamarin, so it would be available for both, phones and PCs.
The nasa data used are the STRM30 .dem archives, we used them to get the monument's base height from the sea level. We also used some reports of the nasa to make an idea of how fast the water level will increase thougth time.
Our final goal is let people know the consecuencies of climate change and how this would affect to the future generations.
