The Challenge | Rising Water

Sea levels are rising around the world, and approximately 40% of the human population lives in coastal zones. Your challenge is to help communicate the impacts of rising oceans by creating a visualization tool that illustrates the changes caused by rising sea levels in your region.

DROWNorDIE

DROWNorDIE is an Arcade style game which aims to sensitize the player about the problem of rising water. Venice, New York or Giacarta are only one of the few cities more in danger according to data from NASA, run along them and try to save yourself.

NOAH

We are six students from Politecnico of Milano which come from very different background

Vittorio, Salvatore and Basilio are Aerospace Engineers, the creative core of the team is represented by Pietro and Mattia which are Communication Designers, last but not least our expert in power production, Alessandro, who is an energy engineer

DROWNorDIE is an Arcade style game set on a flooding world. According to the data gathered through https://sealevel.nasa.gov/vesl/web/sea-level/slr-uplift/ we selected the cities more in danger as game setting for each level.

Every level has a different obstacle, Tornados, Tsunami or rising of city population. They are only few of the problems which our player will face during the game just as Humanity is doing nowdays.

But there is also a way to mitigate these problems, the player will be able to fight them collecting tools such as renewable source of energy or International agreements on carbon level. But at the same time he can increase the issue by using more oil along his path.

At the end of every level the player unlocks the graphs about future sea level on the city and even more tips about the problems caused by the rising water.

Our goal with this app is to sensitize the population about this critical issue, letting understand through a simple game which will be the consequences and which are our possibility to fight them, all together.

Now, Are you ready to run?
