Oceanic garbage patches are collections of marine debris that come together due to ocean currents; they have devastating effects on ocean ecosystems. Your challenge is to design a mission to help clean up garbage from the ocean!
PlastiSea
PlastiSea is an innovation that use a net along the Great Conveyor Belt to capture all the rubbish from all around the globe
Background
Great Conveyor Belt is like a high way for the sea. It will flow at almost all the places on the Earth. The rubbish from all around the globe will automatically gather there. So, the most effective way to clean up the ocean is to focus on the Great Conveyor Belt route.
Solution
Make multiple of Log Boom (like in the video) and pull it. The log boom will trap the plastic and all the rubbish in the Great Conveyor Belt route.
Challenge
We cannot just put the net at some point without move the net although the water is flowing. This is because the rate of flowing is too slow. To complete 1 cycle need 1000 years. That is why we need to move the net by pull it.
