Living in our world - 1up for NASA earth

The phenomenon of the continuous growth of temperatures, known as “Global Warming”, is a great aspect of climate change that is taking place. This phenomenon that is influenced by humanity has been one of the most tremendous issues of our time.For this problem to be avoided, it requires the agreement and the cooperation of the people with the same goal. Currently telecommunication, information and the commitment of individuals are the main points to solving this problem.

We, as a work group offer an innovative solution which aims to inform and engage the youth in this matter. We propose that this will be achieved with an “Educational Video Game” in the form of a quiz whose main purpose is not only to entertain, but also make them understand these issues, and push their engagement with the aim to innovate. Therefore we want to offer opportunities to young people who have a distinct interest in this subject, so that can they express their ideas, which could very well be implemented in the future.

Firstly the game allows you to log in or play as a guest.

Then you are met with an placement test which puts you to the respective level

There are 3 main levels divided by difficulty into 3 age groups; lvl1 5-10 years old, lvl2 11-16 and lvl3 17-25.

The levels start with the first half of an informative video regarding global warming, then information that will help you solve the quiz in the form of text, the quiz its self and then the second half of the informative video. If the levels is completed within a limited time and accuracy (lvl1 10min 50%, lvl2 7min 65%, lvl3 5min 85%) the user advances to the next level.

Between each level we put a space where the user can give feedback. Using this feedback, with continuous work we will work on updating the game to better fit the users needs.

Individuals who are persistent and complete all the levels of the game can give ideas and solutions regarding global warming. We aim to connect the best ideas with organization with similar goals to why not implement them in real life.

The base structure of this project could be applied in different fields which focus on informing and engaging the youth for the benefit of all of us.

Over time we want to implement technologies live VR/AR to increase the interactivity of the game.
