After another loss of our save, we fixed the problems of the code and finished the rest of crucial functions for the game. The final project have many differences from the original idea! There were somethings that we've decided to change for a better jogability. Others, we couldn't be able to do the original planning. Even with these alterations, the game still a very good instrument to kids and youngs learn about the global enviroment problem.

The end of Hackathon is near, but we're confident that we gonna finish our project. The game is almost ready and the pitch is already finished.

The slides for pitch have been completed and the implementation of the code is in its final stage, the result so far tends to be positive.

We had an unforeseen event and almost lost the entire game interface, and we reevaluated and decided to use some more NASA Earth images in the project.

The visual part has been completed and now the members are working on the code and the slides for pitch presentation.

That's our initial idea about the problem 1 UP FOR NASA EARTH. We discussed about our solution before the start of the hackathon.

CONTEXT:

The game context is our planet. With the NASA data, it was possible to simulate the real climate and polution of the Earth.

OBJECTIVE:

The game objective is reach the end of the 40 turns with na acceptable level of resources and happiness.

MOTIVATION:

The reason of the game is tell about real problems, like polution of atmosphere, rivers and oceans, global warming and deforestation, to kids and young people. It’s more easy to teach gentility than correct the damage.

HOW IT WORKS:

The game is based in turns. It’s about 3 months per turn. The main problem is the enviromental damage caused by humanity, like Global Warming and Polution. The player is a world governator, who has full autonomy to choice how to deal with global problems.

The main status are divided in five categories: Water, Food, Energy, Tecnology and Resources. How much higher, better. But, it’s more easy to keep all balanced. Other statistics is Hapiness Level, Polution Level and Temperature Level.

The player will loss when one of status are zero. But, to help the player, there’s sience points, that will help to prevent global castatrophes and develop many areas. The Science points are used to elevate your status.

There are 3 tiers that you can upgrade. The first tier spends less Science points than Energy or others status. The second is more balenced, not too Science Points neither status. And the last spends more Science points than your status.

The game are divide in 7 local: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Western Asia and Oceania. How much Happiness are the local and how less are the enviromental dameged, more Science points you earn from this local.
