The No-Names has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
Section 1: What is Virtual Earth?
Virtual Earth is a virtual reality videogame focused on raising awareness about global warming while utilizing data provided by NASA. The game is set in 2099, year in which the Earth has been left unrecognizable by humanity’s own actions. A clear contrast between present and future is presented to the player, in which all of the worst climate projections have become a reality and the consequences of our inaction is finally felt.
Section 2: Explaining the solution
While it may be true that people are constantly reminded of the effects of climate change, it remains an abstract concept in the minds of many. Which is why we created an experience capable of teaching players through interaction. An environment in which users can actually act and move around in allows them to connect with their surroundings and more easily internalize the severity of the situation.
Section 3: Future plans
Our objective is to improve upon what we have built by pushing out updates to expand the game and iron out any complications that may arise. One of the biggest current limitations is the need for the player to have an HTC Vive, making the experience available for more VR devices would greatly expand our reach and potential for impacting as many people as possible.
