Your challenge is to design and build an innovative platform to integrate satellite data and information about vulnerable populations and environmental hazards in order to identify the most at-risk populations. Be creative and think outside the box. How will you identify those people that are often missed, but need aid the most?
Day Zero + 1
Mexico City, Melbourne, Jakarta, London, Beijing, Istanbul, Tokyo, India - cities facing a nearing Day Zero. Water is a human necessity. Day Zero + 1 identifies at-risk populations vulnerable to Day Zero - the point at which our actions are irreversable.
Background
Day Zero + 1; our interactive and predictive data visualization tool uses satellite data and information to and identify populations vulnerable to Day Zero and predict the point at which our actions are irreversible. Though we possess databases detailing changes in world surface water, groundwater, population density, water usage and more, the populace remains unaware of the ramifications of Day Zero, and thus incapable of ceasing it due to the complexity of communicating raw analytical data to ordinary people.
