You are a newly appointed Regional Green Engineer. Your challenge is to develop green infrastructure solutions for complex challenges in water management and risk reduction.Create a tool to assess the characteristics of an urban or rural area of your choice, and integrate green infrastructures, or nature-based solutions, into that region’s development plans to1) reduce flood and/or drought risk2) establish sustainable land use practices3) support water management, and/or 4) produce local economic opportunities.
Moana
Moana empowers communities by providing tools to better understand their water infrastructure. With access to information and data storytelling, we equip the world with the knowledge to drive proactive, data-driven water resource reallocation.
Within two decades, over half of the global population will live in cities, of which 888 million will live in low-income cities or slums.
~80% of the global population lives near a body of water, however, cities that don’t have access to a water management system will face severe scarcity.
How can we develop a low-cost water management solution for under-resourced cities?
