Project BOG is the extraction and subsequent use of swamp gas or biogas for industrial purposes.
Segregation of the main component of biogas (methane) helps to prevent its emissions into the atmosphere, and also helps to clean water bodies. Methane has an effect on the greenhouse effect 21 times stronger than CO2, and has been in the atmosphere for 12 years. Capturing methane is the best short-term way to prevent global warming.
In Project BOG we use data from NASA satellites Landsat-7, Spot, Pectypc. According to estimates, in 2010 in Western Siberia, methane emission is 3,200,000 tons / year. According to world statistics, this number can be up to 240 million tons / year.
