The Challenge | Set Your Sights High!

NASA builds and operates numerous satellite and airborne missions that deliver critical measurements and data to the world’s science community. Your challenge is to develop a tool that enables people to identify NASA satellites and satellite instruments as they fly over their locations on Earth. Help people explore the data and applications coming from the instruments overhead!

OLSpace

OLSpace mobile application comes as a solution for astronomy enthusiasts to help them localize satellites in the area in real time, in Augmented Reality. It also provides to the user the essential data about satellite geo-location and type.

The mobile application is divided in 4 modules:

- the "Satellite Finder", that shows a list with satellites around the user, including coordinates of the satellite, his type and other related information. It also offers the user the possibility to be notified about next satellite passes by push notifications.

- the Live Satellite Map helps the user to see the location of each near-by satellite on an interactive earth map

- the AR experience, where the user can see the satellites near his current location using his phone camera and share the experience to social media.

- the top score screen presents the list of users with the highest scores after finding the near-by satellites.
