Problem: We only have one and only earth and we have already messed it up.

During the Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in 2012, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were born at the United Nations. The objective was to produce a set of universal goals that meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world, and try to SAVE our Earth. But the problem is that without the engagement, dedication, and commitment of every single breathing Human on this planet achieving these goals and targets by 2030 is nearly impossible. This is why we chose this challenge and created SDoneGs.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

The SDoneGs Application is developed to engage citizens all around the world to get the global goals DONE by 2030. It helps them discover how each one of the 5 environmental Sustainable Development Goals is directly related to their lives. It actively involves users by showing them work being done by local and regional governments to achieve the SDG’s.

A worldwide interaction platform, using gamification to work on highlighting the environmental Sustainable Development Goals. Sending alerts, updates, and providing users with simplified information using NASA data, Earth observations, and crowd-sourcing to spread accurate and updated studies tracking the development of the SDGs, suggesting actions to inspire the world to ACT for a change and achieve the goals. SDoneGs App also facilitates sharing knowledge and expertise among users providing periodic updates on their progress.

To ensure an inspiring increase in engagement all around the world, we road-mapped the release of the app in all the official working languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish)

How do we maintain users engagement?

Giving the satisfaction of earning points and progressing the avatar toward the golden sustainable world on the application’s map every single time a user ACTS for the world by inviting friends to join,reading an article or sharing ideas will keep the SDoneGs users coming back to improve the gaming experience. Plus the fact that it is an application where friends get double points and progress their avatar further if they organize or join an event as a group which is another reason why the user will not only use the app again but also encourages his or her friends to join and walk together toward the golden sustainable world.

-This application collects data from NASA, earth observation, crowdsourcing, United Nations … analyze it and provides users with simplified and concise information, graphs, and accurate percentages they need to read to feel responsible and ACT.

-Shows how innovation is helping to achieve the goals.

-Interaction platform with global citizens and NGO’s around the world.

-The ability to choose what goals are important to the users, and receive notifications about them.

- Turning sustainability into a competitive race to the top where users have to ACT to earn points, progress their avatar from a level to another and get rewards and certificates.

- organize or join events in the users' area.

– Source of information with local relevance, but also as an approachable and easy way for people in the community to get involved too by creating their SDG actions, sharing or suggesting projects ideas.
