WEGI - Weather Earth Global Impact| Smash your SDGs!

Project Details

The Challenge | Smash your SDGs!

Your challenge is to develop creative solutions that use Earth observations to address the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and foster sustainable development worldwide. Use NASA and other Earth observing satellites’ data as well as information generated by crowd-sourcing and in-situ measurements to create practical applications that support environmental and societal policy across water, health, food security and/or land use domains.

WEGI - WEATHER EARTH GLOBAL IMPACT

WEGI is a project to save the forests and smash the SDG15. We create a platform was monitor and control of illegal activities in real time.

WEGI - Weather Earth Global Impact

Our platform allows for the monitoring and control of threats in forests in real time, lowering or lowering costs and making it easier for authorities, we developers decentralized system where people can report as anonymous and valid threats to other users if there is something similar in the region, So through worldwide APIs and data, we can help save 31% of the world that is covered by forests.

The application was built with React.JS using Node. We use public APIs from Google Maps and HAQI.We rely on the Fireweatheravalanche and Windy API. We studied the USGS Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI) Brazil API for forest monitoring, but found some public APIS that provided us with more information.

We want the tool to be implemented to aid the Amazon and other major forests in the world, enabling a great support for the environment and the earth.
