Abstract:

Urano is a prediction platform that cross climate data with human behaviour data over the years, providing an algorithm that measures wildfires risks zones to avoid catastrophes, losses and to save lifes.

Development:

In order to produce a more accurate analysis and warn people in risk, we decided to create a platform that uses big data and machine learning that provides an own algorithm, measured by Uranus Scale. Urano is capable of predict main locations oh the planet with high probability to wildfires.

Combining data collected from NASA satellites, geographic information, deforestation and smoking rates, population density, among other factors, is possible to establish a more assertive index than other forecasts found in the market.

The final product boils down to a simple and interactive interface capable of demonstrate main risk areas based on data screening. Urano allows the user visualize, in real time, a global map with warning zones and generate specific reports according to their interest. Besides that, the platform has an integration API to send an alert, throught social media, for people located inside or near the risk zones, aiming stop wildfires caused by humans.
