Awards & Nominations

Fire Fighter V2 has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!

Global Nominee

The Challenge | Spot That Fire V2.0

Your challenge is to create an application that leverages NASA's near-real-time and archival wildfire datasets along with other tools to support firefighting and fire mitigation efforts. This challenge builds on last year’s challenge of the same name by calling for innovative ideas and apps that focus on how to engage and enable citizens to assist with the entire firefighting and fire mitigation process.

De-Fire

De-Fire is a web application and IoT system aiming to improve domestic firefighting process.

Fire Fighter V2

Like said in title, De-Fire aims to removing hurdles in domestic firefighting by empowering web interface and IoT devices in the field.

web Interface:

  • User can signup by marking their home location on Google Maps which saves the GPS coordinates(latitude and longitude) on the database.
  • If there's a fire user can immediately login and then send SMS to authority and neighbours with one click. The SMS contains the GPS coordinates and a google maps link derived from the same which can pinpoint the exact location on Google Maps.
  • Also the watersheds are exactly pinpointed on Google Maps for quick and location specific refilling of fire trucks.

IoT devices:

  • Each user has an IoT device with a fire sensor which immediately sends SMS to authority, user and neighbours if it detects fire. The SMS contains GPS coordinates of the location with the Google Maps link to the same location, also it has the PPM(parts per million) value of smoke to inform about the intensity of the fire.
  • Firefighters are also the one in danger while in rescue. So, there's also a wearable IoT device for them while they are in their job which monitors important variables like Temperature, Air Quality, Pressure, etc and sends all the data to the authority who can ensure if they are not in danger by evaluating the data sent.

Github Repository contains the code of the weekend.
