The Challenge | Spot That Fire V2.0

Your challenge is to create an application that leverages NASA's near-real-time and archival wildfire datasets along with other tools to support firefighting and fire mitigation efforts. This challenge builds on last year’s challenge of the same name by calling for innovative ideas and apps that focus on how to engage and enable citizens to assist with the entire firefighting and fire mitigation process.

Help fire refugees ask for help, get help and help others

As fires are a natural disaster that affects huge parts of the world, solutions should be made to help eliminate danger on nearby citizens. Our goal is to put down the fires, alleviate the danger from citizens and save lives.

Governments already know the occurrence of fires and work on putting them down. However, the actual problem is the danger to the surrounding people. We found that they are the a huge human power that can help and they are also at the most danger.

Our application can allow you to help others by reporting fires and helping refugees in fire danger zone. It can also help you find a safe route outside of the fire danger zone. You can also use the app to ask for help by sending S.O.S. messages.

When users report a fire -as photo from a near smoke or fire- it first passes through our new machine learning model and it is going to determine a new range of danger zone depending on the model functionality.
