Your challenge is to create an application that leverages NASA's near-real-time and archival wildfire datasets along with other tools to support firefighting and fire mitigation efforts. This challenge builds on last year’s challenge of the same name by calling for innovative ideas and apps that focus on how to engage and enable citizens to assist with the entire firefighting and fire mitigation process.

Background
Around the world, there are a lot of geological processes occurring that poses a threat to not just to us humans, but to the environmental and wildlife. From earthquakes that shake entire cities to going for a run on a slightly hazy day, air quality is something that can slowly take a toll on our health if left unchecked. Measuring air quality and environmental factors can be a difficult task to accomplish, especially in a complex and hostile environment.
