The Challenge | Spot That Fire V2.0

Your challenge is to create an application that leverages NASA's near-real-time and archival wildfire datasets along with other tools to support firefighting and fire mitigation efforts. This challenge builds on last year’s challenge of the same name by calling for innovative ideas and apps that focus on how to engage and enable citizens to assist with the entire firefighting and fire mitigation process.

*Idea:

Our machine learning model is not only would help us to predict the fire direction it also going to help us to predict the fire before it started.

*Description:

1- prediction of potential fire before started :currently we use NASA satelites and its information system to be integrated with our machine learning process, we will make a fire risk model that would help us to predict the fire before it started.

a) social media:

An automatic web scraping tool that would extract data from social media channels, which include social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and etc.

they are all yielding user-generated content in the form of unstructured data that is accessible only through the web.

b)USSD:

what would happened in case the user doesn't have an internet connection or

a smart phone?

you don't have to be worried about that, you can easily use USSD code to recognize the current location or the nearest location

3-prediction of the fire direction and evacuation :

IFiS APP proposes safe evacuation routes based on the identification of risk zones using Fire Risk Model information.

4-IFiS supporting feature:

a)first aid support, would help the user to deal with the first aid procedures in case of different fire injuries such as suffocation, burning, and etc

b) voice support, would help the user the user to call firefighting authority to deal with its current situation.

5-evacuation:

- 1 km - RED ZONE - Urgent evacuation, high risk for the App user.

- 5 km - ORANGE ZONE - Evacuation required, moderate risk for the App user.

- 15 km - YELLOW ZONE - Preventive evacuation, moderate risk for the App user.

All evacuation routes from one specific point that a user may have on normal conditions, will be

evaluated by AI and the ones inside 5 km radius from the forest fire, will be discarded and marked as

not usable in red colour.

On another side, the safe ones that potentially will not be affected by forest fire, will be shown in

GREEN color and eligible for the App user.

6-rewarding features:

making rewarding rank based on the contributes of the IFiS users and the most contributed one would be rewarded by the local authority and his picture would be showen on the register screen as well as the news feed

*what's new:

1- social media is applied as a source of information

2-USSD to apply the offline mode

3- more flexibility in using IFiS than similar apps

4-using blood grouping, to identify the applicable blood type from the users, to help us for blood donating

Future plane:

1- Using a drone in verification of the fire and to detect the cause and range of the fire.

2- deal with the fire authority to provide us with building escape exits that would help the IFiS users to find the nearest exit escape.

3-A virtual game that would be applied to help the IFiS users to deal with such circumstances.
