The Challenge | Spot That Fire V2.0

Your challenge is to create an application that leverages NASA's near-real-time and archival wildfire datasets along with other tools to support firefighting and fire mitigation efforts. This challenge builds on last year’s challenge of the same name by calling for innovative ideas and apps that focus on how to engage and enable citizens to assist with the entire firefighting and fire mitigation process.

Ignite Avoider

First to use when in fire risk app.

With Ignite Avoider we wanted to create a web application that gives you the information about the fires around the user. Detect risks based on the fires, wheather, and the user realtime location.

We can provide evacuation routes to the user, realtime emergency information, danger warnings through push notifications and e-mail, actuation protocols and quick shortcut to emergency number.

This app is intended to reduce the fire victims considerably.

As a secondary role we also wanted to provide the user to upload evidences of the fires, even if they are already detected to analyze the risks of the fire.

Resources we used:

- The VIIRS infomation about fires.

- Bing Maps Widget to show the fires located.

- Weather.cit API to get aditional information about the weather in the fire location.

- PHP

- Angular JS
