The Challenge | Surface-to-Air (Quality) Mission

Your challenge is to integrate NASA data, ground-based air quality data, and citizen science data to create an air quality surface that displays the most accurate data for a location and time. Create algorithms that select or weight the best data from several sources for a specific time and location, and display that information.

AIRD

It's an air quality information and prediction application, enabling people to easily and intuitively find out information about the local air pollution and get tips on how to protect themselves from its negative effects.

Buffer Overflow

Our team has a background in data analytics, frontend and backend development and PR.

We developed a simple MVP to illustrate our idea.

We faced many challenges, including unexpected bugs and problems, but we persevered and finished our MVP.

We used the provided NASA open data and a NASA open API for the presentation charts and the MVP. We also used an interactive map plugin.

For the MVP we mainly used Python and Django

Overall, I think it was a good experience and we're eager to pitch our idea tommorow!
