Innovation Geeks has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
With every day passes, Egypt’s need for energy increases, and the amount of resources decreases. Egypt’s consumption exceeds a staggering amount of energy consumption capped at 159.70 billion KWh, where 90% of the produced energy comes from burning of fossil fuels like oil and natural gas. The project aims to provide a suitable demand for energy and to reduce the gases in the process of extracting oil and petroleum, these gases are burned every day, making environmental issues and health issues. We use theses and make the filtration process to produce natural gas (butane and propane) thus, save our environment from harmful gases by reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Our prototype consists of three stages to filter those gases.
First stage: we remove CO2 and H2S from the mixture by using potassium bicarbonate, that there is chemical reaction occur between each other, then the potassium bicarbonate and these harmful gases precipitate in the bottom of the tube.
Second stage: we remove water from the mixture by using triethylene glycol. The glycol has the ability to absorb water vapor from the mixture. We use it especially because it has a high temperature and low cost.
The third stage: we remove a substance called pentane plus by condensation because it has a lower boiling point than natural gas (propane and pentane) after that it recycled and used in a petroleum factory. So you gain a natural gas (butane and propane) that has many uses from nothingness and from wasted harmful gases
After collecting all data, we used Technology in many themes as a sensor to measure the degree of the last stage in the separation process
The project will save the world from harmful gases, also it will reduce the danger of global warming and contribute in the purity of the atmosphere
