The Challenge | The Art Side of the Moon

Fifty years ago, generations were inspired when humans made a giant leap and walked on the moon. Today, NASA is committed to returning to the moon and beyond! Your challenge is to create an artistic work to communicate, inform, or inspire others about humanity’s return to the moon.

The Moon

Revisiting out trip to the moon

“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”- exclaimed an excited Neil Armstrong on the 24th of July,1969. These famous words brought a new hope for mankind, perhaps one that has not existed before. Ever since then, exploring the Moon has become a major point of interest for people of all ages and professions.

The Moon still has it’s own little hidden gems that are yet to be found. By finding them, we get to find out more about our planet and further understand what we need to do and implement in a better way for a possible colonization of the Moon.

By colonizing the Moon, we will get a fresh new platform to test an open exploration architecture with as many capabilities that can be replicated as possible for future expeditions. This also provides an opportunity to demonstrate new technologies that could help with building self-sustaining outposts off Earth.

Later-on, we can use the colonized Moon as a new starting point to further explore the wonders of the Universe, and possibly find new planets to populate.

If we combine our capabilities and resources to take us to the Moon, we can use that endeavor as an example in the future to show the power of a unified purpose and show what humanity can do when it comes together to achieve a common goal for the common good.
