Partum Planet has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!

Our project consists of a mobile application (video game) that requires constant interaction with users by customizing their universes by creating stars and planets with different chemical components and also acquire knowledge of the considerations that each effect produces.

We are a group of two software engineers, a student of physical engineering, an student of aerospace engineering and a student of chemistry degree. We are passionate about applications in the space area and we are dedicated to transmit passion to other people and trying to bring knowledge to as many communities as possible. For this reason it was decided to carry out the challenge of creating a planet to increase knowledge, interest and motivation to people on what consists scientifically speaking in the creation of a star and planet.
The main obstacles of the team were the large number of parameters that could be included in the app, the obtention of the planets specific information and the range of possibilities for chemical reactions and physical interactions that could occur.
The advantages of our application is the scientific fundamentals, using the sources of information that NASA can provide, as well as literature obtained from diverse sources, it is also attractive to the general public, simple to use and can extend to different possibilities.
We rely on NASA´s official data resources to restrict our application to a real perspective of possibilities to forming a star, a planet and a galaxy, including all the physical and chemical implications to create of each celestial body. For this reason it was essential to follow the process of investigation:
1. Galaxies
1.1 Types of galaxies
1.2 Process of formation
1.2 Components
2. Star
2.1 Formation
2.2 Life stages
2.3 Components
2.4 Fusion reaction
2.5 Function in the galaxy
3. Planets
3.1 Types of planets
3.2 Characteristics and properties of the different planets
3.3 Conditions necessary for the formation of life on planets.
3.4 Types of orbits
3.5 Translation and rotation
3.6 Type of satellite
3.7 Type of asteroids
3.8 Satellite
4.1 External conditions that affect the planets.
4.2 Formation of magnetic fields and their effects.
4.3 Forces that interact between planets and stars.
This application will notify the user at the moment when it has moved away from reality during the creation of the planet or star according to the data and information acquired by NASA so far. Being the only unrealistic part is to acquire elements to form the galaxy, in addition battles or competitions with other users. In this way the user can distinguish between what is real and what is fake.
The game begins by telling an adverse story for our planet Earth, you are in the International Space Station and your mission is to build a new galaxy. You will start by defining the solar system, so you will have to develop your star depending on the chemical composition you choose to start your Nebula, you will know the different stages of a star until its creation.
Once your star is formed, you are ready to form your exoplanets, experiencing and testing different types of elements that you can manipulate and see how they influence the properties of each planet. You will enter the entire creation process by changing its configurations of the nucleus (core), whether liquid or solid, in which determines whether the planet will be a rocky or a greasy one. You can then view, modify and add external features, such as atmospheres, moons, rings and satellites. You can also decide on your type of orbit, its radius, mass, rotation speed, translation speed and understand all the physical effects they cause, as well as the properties that can be generated, including magnetic fields. To do this, you will need specific elements that you can obtain by performing challenges, missions and competitions with other users, but not everything will be so simple, however online events may occur due to adverse substitutions at the time is it designed for the user to perform different missions in which he can acquire new resources to expand his universe (for example, when a meteor passes near one of our planets, the event will be published as a footnote in the application). This will allowed the user to overview extra information what the footnotes populated during the game.
The user will be thrilled with the application and will want to continue expanding his galaxy and in a secondary way the knowledge he will learn will be very diverse. The user will be able to know how the chemical compounds influence the color of the planet, as the distance from the star influences, the properties they can acquire by modifying their compounds, the influence on the planet by having rings or moons, such as the behavior of the magnetic field of the planet and in which it helps, among many other effects. But not just having an educational value the user will be subject to have fun by participating within the next bullet points:
The app will generate profits using the “freemium” model. This means, that we will have in game coins, and in order to gain those coins, the user will have to either play the game a lot (which will cause them to view ads), placing them on the top of our ranking gaining benefits, or either purchasing coins in our game shop.
Once the user has enough coins, he/she will be able to buy new stars, new planets for there star system, certain number of elements or “power ups” to help them gain more elements for their galaxies growth.
For the future we have proposed to consolidate the software. Design within the application environment daily, weekly or monthly online competition events. Create adversities to place events that can harm your planets and encourage you to get more elements. Be able to interact with other users to share resources and possible currencies. Tools and options will be added so that a planet already formed can be mined and get a certain percentage of the elements and add them to another existent planet which you want to upgrade.
