Overview:

MyVerse is a mobile AR application that allows players to create, customize and simulate interactive solar systems using accurate scientific algorithms based on Nasa’s data. Players can create planets that can be comprehensively customized in a wide variety of ways, such as through their terrain textures, ocean levels, as well as the colors of every element. Planets then behave and interact with the star that the player has customized to create a solar system that is simulated realistically. For example, a planet can harbor water if it is the right distance from the star and contains the right atmosphere gases. Many of the planets' attributes such as their orbital period and surface temperature are also calculated accurately. Finally, players can contribute by creating planets and placing them into other people's solar systems in real-time.

MyVerse is an augmented reality application, this means that it can be downloaded on any smart phone that supports augmented reality, making it widely accessible.

Education:

MyVerse was developed to precisely simulate a solar system, this besides the fact that solar systems are fully customizable makes it handy as a tool for students to display their creativity while learning about the different ways planets and their star can interact with each other. Another example of its usage is visualizing how the continents on Earth used to look during prehistoric ages.

Research:

The use of scientific algorithms allows MyVerse to calculate the requirements of livable conditions on planets based on their physical attributes. This makes it really useful for researchers in the fields of space colonization and environmental studies.

Awareness:

The ability for users to visualize planets based on a wide array of parameters can help environmental scientists predict the future state of Earth. This can also empower activists to more easily spread awareness of environmental issues by giving them the ability to demonstrate the possible future states of Earth in a more visual and easily digestible way.
