The Challenge | Orbital Scrap Metal — The Video Game

Nuts, bolts, spent rocket stages, and broken pieces of satellites orbiting Earth are just a few of the many thousands of items known as orbital debris, or space junk. Your challenge is to create an orbital debris collection videogame web-app! You may build upon NASA’s Spacebirds and real data.

CleanDebris

Our project is an educational videogame about space, rubbish and survival. It contains different types of space debris, ways of its distruction and a single task - save our planet.

CleanDebris

Our team is creating an orbital debris collection videogame web-app. This videogame web-app can educate the public about the problem of orbital debris and inspire people to think about how to capture and dispose of it, and maybe even use some objects once more.

The key advantage of our videogame is not only entertaining, but also education – it may be used in educational or training centers (including planetariums). And there are no analogues in Ukraine.

To develop the videogame, we used real NASA data of large and small objects of debris to be firstly removed from near-Earth orbits and real developed and tested methods and means of active space debris removal.

Our videogame has been developing with Unity Game Engine for Android-gadgets and for PC.
