Since 20th century, we have had a big step forward space exploration. On the other hand, we also produce lots of space debris at the same time. Large amount of trash in the space may cause serious space accidents with high probability. Therefore, we want to make everyone pay attention to the issue of debris.
We hope the public can focus on the issue of space debris.
Hence, we create these web games.
We have three games in our project. In the first game, according to The Kessler Syndrome, we know that the amount of space trash increases dramatically. Thus, we present this phenomena to our players to let them know the severity. In the Second game, we demonstrate the difficulty for a spaceship to pass through the space trash area. In the Last game, we show the players several types of space junk. The debris is composed of not only Asteroid but also artificial space trash. In conclusion, we want to convey the concept that everyone has the responsibility to care about the planet we live.
Through our static website, we provide extra information related to space debris, including what it is, where it from and How it causes damage. Furthermore, we introduce a new technology in debris cleanup. We expect that we can raise public awareness of environment issue.
As all we know, education is an important way for us to both knowing this world and conveying the things we believe in. A game is not just a meaningless game anymore, it may become much more knowledgeable. In our project, we come up with some question to ask players during the playing time, or display the information of a specific space debris object. Through these ways, we hope that the players cultivate new thinking in astronomical science and become more environment-friendly.
We rewrote classical single-user games and combined them with hot environmental issue -- space debris. While playing these video games, user will get to know the phenomena at the same time. If they want to see more information about debris, our website lists part of related introductions and references.
