The Challenge | The Trans-Neptunian Spaceway

Like the Trans-Siberian Railroad linked remote parts of Asia to the West, the Trans-Neptunian Spaceway (TNS) takes tourists and entrepreneurs to the newly accessible region of our solar system beyond Neptune. Your challenge is to develop marketing materials and/or tools for the Trans-Neptunian Spaceway!

Traffic revolution in the Solar System

From the over population on Earth, we only have two ways to solve it, they are reducing the reproductive level or find/create another new home! We wish to introduce our railway to offer exploration in the Solar system for immigration.

We will be facing 6 major challenges while designing interstellar spacecraft.

1. Attitude controls: Differ to ground vehicle control, space shuttle required 6 degree of freedom to control its position, as for an outer spacecraft, the controlling system must be precise, power is required and we will have to design an autopilot to fly the space shuttle as no pilot will be able to fly for 10 years consistently.

2. Orbital Safety: Many other factors will affect the shuttle while operating, for example; space waste surrounding will cause severe damage after impact.

3. Battery (Power source): Endurance of the power source will be a very big challenge for our shuttle to operate for a very long period. These power sources will also have to supply for all the electrical devices on board, the entertainment system and life sources such as temperature control and oxygen supplies.

4. Structure: with the excessive cosmic ray at the outer space, living organism will be affected by the instant ray, as well as the electrical devices.

5. Acceleration: While mission in progress, the shuttle will not be stopping at any station between departure planet/place till its destination, due to zero gravity, we will have to find a way to keep the shuttle's speed.

6. Communication: with extreme distances among all of our destinations, communication will play a huge role. the shuttle will have to report its position or reporting major incident that might happen during operation.
