The Challenge | Trash Cleanup

Oceanic garbage patches are collections of marine debris that come together due to ocean currents; they have devastating effects on ocean ecosystems. Your challenge is to design a mission to help clean up garbage from the ocean!

Tank-Net

Fishing trash is our way to clean the ocean.

Fishing trash is our way to clean the ocean.

The Plan is to (The Process):

1- spot a garbage patch according to NASA Data.

2- besiege the garbage patch by installing a giant detachable tank around it (there is a giant net attached to the inner surface of the tank + a big Nano fabric net attached to the bottom of the tank).

3- gather all fish and sea creatures and bring them back to the ocean outside the Tank.

4- now we have only trash swimming in the tank, so we will hunt it by the giant net.

5- now we have only microplastics in the tank, so we will create an artificial whirlpool inside the tank that will collect all the plastic particles at the bottom of the tank.

6- now it is harvest time, and the Nano fabric net will contain the microplastics and then we will pull it up.

7- mission is completed and now we can detach the tank and use it elsewhere.
