Ocean's Lifeguards has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!

Our proposal is to create a machine that collects the surface trash in the ocean. In form of a whale, it will be made out of aluminium, It will be powered by solar panels and include batteries to store the energy. The moving of the whale is simulating the fish movement to allow it to swim on the surface, meaning it would be an hybrid. There will be a system of classification between living and nonliving things with infrared and electrosense sensors.
The trash will be located on the inside of the machine. Including cameras for eyes, a GPS, and an antenna it will be communicated with a technology centre that can manage the whale and detect when it’s full. Equipped with a red, simulating the whale’s teeth it will gather microplastics. After this process of collection of debris, the idea is to sign an agreement with organizations such as “Conceptos Plasticos” (a colombian brand that creates plastic bricks) and UNICEF to fulfill the needs of projects such as the Ivory Coast project that builds schools for less privileged kids.
During the process of designing our machine, we faced some challenges such as the material in which it will be created or the system of separation between living and nonliving organisms. With the chat we could ask some questions that helped us during the process. Here in the institution we worked on, we received some ideas and help from mentors.
