The Challenge | Set Your Sights High!

NASA builds and operates numerous satellite and airborne missions that deliver critical measurements and data to the world’s science community. Your challenge is to develop a tool that enables people to identify NASA satellites and satellite instruments as they fly over their locations on Earth. Help people explore the data and applications coming from the instruments overhead!

SAPPTELLITE

Sapptellite is an app that everybody can use. Become a satellite expert combining AR and gamification, and discover how data from satellites can be used to improve our lives.

challenges

At the moment, satellites gather loads of information for several purposes including observation and scientific experiments.

There is a spread opinion that space exploration is a huge waste of money, above all during crisis times.

Many people do not understand the reasons to launch space missions and their impact on society.

NASA offers a lot of public information through different webs and apps, but sometimes is not easy to access.

OUR SOLUTION - SAPPTELLITE

In order to face the challenges described above, we have designed SAPPTELLITE, a mobile app with the following capacities:

  • Accessible for every one.
  • It makes known the reasons and benefits of space missions.
  • The app allows general public to learn more about space in a fun way.
  • It allows people interested in space to access NASA information in a more easy/intuitive way.
