The Challenge | Smash your SDGs!
Your challenge is to develop creative solutions that use Earth observations to address the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and foster sustainable development worldwide. Use NASA and other Earth observing satellites’ data as well as information generated by crowd-sourcing and in-situ measurements to create practical applications that support environmental and societal policy across water, health, food security and/or land use domains.
ZoonoDEMS
ZoonoDEMS is aimed at users and LGUs to map incidences and transmission of animal (later human) diseases.
The ZoonoDems (Zoonotic Disease Early Monitoring System) is geared to develop a Monitoring System that could help track and provide early detection to the spread of zoonotic diseases like African Swine Flu, Malaria and Dengue. The system will help in the decision making to mitigate the spread of these types of diseases. We used climate data of NASA(MODIS/Aqua Land Surface Temperature/Emissivity 5-Min L2 Swath 1km V006https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/granules?p=C194001216-LPDAAC_ECS&q=temperature%20data&tl=15557097) to correlate to the spreading of diseases that was gathered by stakeholders using linear regression analysis.
