COPYWRITING PLANS AND DOCUMENTATION

  1. TIMELINE (homepage)

1.1 How our past inspires the future

Neil Armstrong has managed a feat that broke the boundaries of things thought impossible, securing a tremendous leap in the name of mankind fifty years ago. He was the living proof attesting that the moon is no longer a place untouchable by our efforts—nor is it a place unconquerable by our hands. Subsequent discoveries, such as M3's foray on Chandrayaan-1 in confirming the presence of lunar ice in 2008, have given support to the greater possibility of creating a moon colony, manifesting a long-anticipated dream originating since humankind's first fixation upon the moon itself.

1.2 Accelerate to the moon

President Donald Trump has sent a request to speed up the timeline for the next moon landing project, signing the Space Policy Directive-1 on December 2017. This directs NASA to readily answer with the National Exploration Campaign, specifically NASA's Explore Moon to Mars's Artemis program, an ambitious project to return astronauts back to the surface of the moon by the year 2024. More men and the first ever woman would set their steps onto the lunar soil to explore the Moon's South Pole, a region yet untouched by humankind; one of the places where concentrated ice deposits scanned by the M3 are found.

1.3 Our next home

NASA's ceaseless efforts to constantly redefine the constraints of space travels has borne fruit to the Gateway, a spaceship orbiting the moon designed to be used as a transit point to launch the new reusable human lunar landing system for further lunar surface explorations. This technological breakthrough has paved the path to enable assemblies and refueling to be done on the Gateway itself, creating a round-trip system between the Gateway and the moon for sustainable explorations.

As for accomodations on the moon itself, research and development on building moon bases has been ongoing since 2013, conceptualising a dome-like structure design to be 3D printed using resources on the moon.

1.4 Our future

The Moon to Mars exploration campaign ultimately sets its sight on greater, more challenging goal: Mars. True to its name, this campaign's stay on the moon is but a crucial checkpoint in the long-term plan to reach Mars, and hopefully continue the success envisioned by the phase two of Artemis program by the end of 2030 onto the red planet itself. Those goals include more distribution of robots to assist with data collection and the establishment of bases on Mars, with the moon serving as a pitstop between the Earth and Mars, pioneering the means of deep-space exploration to be done in the distant future.

  1. SUSTAINABILITY (page 2)

2.1 Food and Water

2.2 Housing

  1. SAFETY (page 3)

3.1 Potential dangers

3.2 Precautions/how to prepare

*as you can see, we only have the first page for now. If we have time, we would do more copywriting.

If you notice, the first hifi's title (can be soon on top left) is 'Luna Futura' which directly means 'moon future' in latin but it sounds like an old wizard name so we change it to 'Lunaticus' which means living on the moon, though it is often used for a term of 'being crazy' which we utilise as a reference that living on the moon is not a crazy thought anymore.

Hi-Fi prototype on what the website will look like. Using 'Welcome Home' as the main header would make audience feel welcomed and implants the idea that moon is their home. The plan was to have 3 pages: 1) Timeline of lunar exploration. 2) How people are going to live on the moon (food, water, etc). 3) Safety hazards and how to mitigate it.

The first idea was to create a data visualisation in the form of a sphere of either a predictive population of humans in moon an area which will be represented in protruding blocks from the sphere which is difficult to do because we don't see the database nor the mathematical skills to make the figures. Another idea is to use the timeline of lunar exploration to now and the future (https://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/lunar/lunart...) and show where they landed represented by dots on the sphere and will each be connected by each other. If we ended up not having enough time then we will use video footages for the main page to be displayed (https://www.nasa.gov/content/ultra-high-definition...)

The feedback for the first layout was that it looks like a recipe blog so we tried to change it but it looks more squeezed out and rather messy so we ended up using the previous one.

The first layout of the website campaign. It is structured in a timeline like format that accommodates to the first date humans starts sending lunar exploration machines to the moon until now and follows future plans of living in the moon and mars.
