The Challenge | The Art Side of the Moon

Fifty years ago, generations were inspired when humans made a giant leap and walked on the moon. Today, NASA is committed to returning to the moon and beyond! Your challenge is to create an artistic work to communicate, inform, or inspire others about humanity’s return to the moon.

POSSIBILITY

Possibility is the Humanity sculpture which is not only made up of scrap and satellite junk left on the Moon surface but also a communicating device that will send and receive signals from beyond the universe. It will be future radiation free zone on Moon.

POSSIBILITY

POSSIBILITY is not only a piece of art or sculpture, but it also fullfills form follows function. Function that will communicate to the other world, send and receive signals and will also make safer place for future astronauts and space travelers.

It mainly consists of two parts. Satellite and Base where Humanity sculpture is placed in the center of huge Hexagon radii 30 km. Both Satellite and Base creates magnetic field that deflects radiation from Sun, making it easier place for future space travellers.

Satellite consists of electromagnetic generators which create the magnetic aura with the other magnetic poles on the Base. It has Solar panels, fuel tank and boosters for movement and energy.

Base is Hexagon on Moon’s surface with sides of 30 km length. Sculpture or the Art work is placed in the centre of the Hexagon. The Art work is Humanity sculpture made up of 90% scrap and spacecraft junk such as empty fuel tank, dead satellite engine etc. and 10% of Moon's rock. It is not only sculpture, but will also send signals to outer space in regular intervals. There are 6 antennas 30 km apart to receive signals of different frequency and wavelength. Series of solar panels to generate energy with other energy creating minerals found on Moon. Space around the Sculpture will be used as Lab and tourist purpose in future.
