The main idea is to replace the transmission and reception of data with radio frequency as the main method and use fiber optics as an alternate system in case of Wi-Fi system failure. which would reduce the weight used in standard copper, aluminum and alloy cables. Just leaving Conventional cables or Electric Mesh System for the transmission of electricity, to activate pumps, valves, screens, etc. Even the system with fiber optic cables could be used for internal cabin lighting, external where possible.
The aircraft use computers that need to receive information from each of the areas or components that they wish to operate, or some sensors automatically send information from the component or part, and that information is received on the computer and is processed, from the computer an order via conventional cable to drive an electric motor, pump, an electric valve, a solenoid, a sensor.
Eliminating data wiring and using Wi-Fi technology would eliminate much of the weight that these cables represent, leaving fiber optic cable as a backup system, which is similarly lighter than conventional cables. Using this type of cable the backup system is maintained in the event that the Wi-Fi system fails or is interfered with by any device external to the aircraft.
The conventional data wiring that can be replaced includes that of many aircraft systems, starting from the main ones, passing through the secondary and miscellaneous.
For example the sensors that indicate the position of the primary and secondary flight controls can use the Wi-Fi network to transmit the information to their respective computer, the computer processes the information and via Wi-Fi sends the information to the sensor so that it executes the commanded action , only remaining conventional wiring or electrical meshing of the structure to execute the action of the motors, which in turn actuate the actuators.
Additional for the complete elimination of conventional wiring that carries electrical energy to drive electric motors and any other device that requires the use of electrical energy, the study of impregnating or meshing specific parts of the plane with an electricity conductor between the sheets of the skin or the internal structure, with which the equipment to be energized is connected to the structure of the plane at the nearest point. Eliminating in this way the wiring of electrical energy in a large part of the plane.
