The Challenge | The Trans-Neptunian Spaceway

Like the Trans-Siberian Railroad linked remote parts of Asia to the West, the Trans-Neptunian Spaceway (TNS) takes tourists and entrepreneurs to the newly accessible region of our solar system beyond Neptune. Your challenge is to develop marketing materials and/or tools for the Trans-Neptunian Spaceway!

We created a website for customers to use to look at and plan trips to areas beyond Neptune. It provides information about the locations of the trips, as well as the cost of these trips. We also prototyped an app using proto.io in order to illustrate how customers would log in and view information about the tour on their phones. This prototype was recorded and is displayed in our pitch. By selecting a planet or a specific tour, more information is readily available about the exact specifics of the tour and what it would consist of.

Backend

In the backend, our programmer created a database consisting a table of activities, hotels and locations. From this database, we can offer different types of tours based on budget and other filters such as environmental sustainability, from which multiple tours will be offered. The database was made on Python and is available open source on Github. In the future, we will have an AI recommendation system that then recommends specific tours to customers based on data about them.

Rocket Owners and Travel Agencies

After booking with us, customers will be routed to companies such as SpaceX and Virgin Galactic, and their trip will be booked. We make money by taking a commission for using the spaceway and giving them customers. As a competitor in a lucrative market, we will attract customers to us by marketing discounts and special tours for people.
