Teens in AI is back with theSpace Apps Challenge in 2019!

Teens in AI is back with our NASA Space Hack, partnering with NASA Space Apps Challenge and Onfido to inspire young people aged 11-18 into solving problems using data science and artificial intelligence.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Teens participating will use NASA's data to create solutions to the challenges specified by the Space Apps Challenge. Challenges will open near the date of the event, and participants will join teams to work towards the solutions. Challenges will be chosen on the day of the event by the teams.

We will have two whole days filled with design thinking workshops, ethical talks, coding workshops and a lot of time for the teams to design and develop their solutions. Due to it being a teen hack days will run from 9:30 til 18:30, though teams can stay in contact in their own time to work on and develop their solutions.

The second day will end with teams pitching, where judges from high level industry companies will decide on two teams who will qualify for the global competition! Additional prizes will be awarded to all teams for their efforts.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

  • Use real NASA data to solve real problems
  • Make friends with like-minded people
  • Win cool prizes
  • Network with high level industry mentors from Onfido, Microsoft, Element AI, Mastercard and other companies
