Belfast

We are back again this year on the 19th - 20th October Weekend in Belfast to take part in the NASA International SpaceApps Challenge and welcome you to join us to make it bigger and better!

The event will be hosted by PA Consulting at their new offices in StepSpace with food and drinks throughout the event.

You will get to meet new people and team up to build something great. The best teams will be diverse so whether you are an artist, scientist, student, engineer, software developer, gamer, librarian, bricklayer (pretty much anyone) or someone with massive enthusiasm and great ideas then you can get involved!

You will be tasked to design, build and present innovative solutions to challenges we currently face on Earth and in Space. Whether it's an app, website, electronic gadget, gizmo, clothing or something entirely outside the box, we look forward to seeing what you create at Space Apps Belfast!

What are the judged categories, and what are the prizes? Our judges panel will be made up of coders, artists, designers, and makers. We encourage you to participate no matter your medium. The judged categories and some project inspiration will be made available closer to the time. We will nominate two Belfast entries to advance to Global Judging by the NASA team. The prizes for NASA's global awards have not yet been announced but previous awards have been to attend a Rocket Launch!

VENUE

We will be back in StepSpace this year, only with much more room. StepSpace is in Centre House, between the Centra and Granny Annies on Chichester Street, you are in the centre of town so you can enjoy a high level of convenience.

WHAT TO BRING

• Make sure to bring your own development equipment, parts, electronics, etc.
• A laptop, tablet - whatever you may use.
• Yourself and your enthusiasm!
• 16+ Event - Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
