LOCAL AWARDS INFORMATION (Best Overall Solution and Most Social Impact):
Best Overall Solution - each judge will be scoring the below 5 categories with a 1-5 rating - the team with the largest cumulative score will win the award
Most Social Impact - each judge will score creativity with the following 2 attributes: degree of impact (the size of the problem), and degree of inspiration (will it support other's efforts) - both with a 1-5 rating. The team with the largest cumulative score will win the award
- Impact: How much impact (quality and quantity) can this project have? Does it solve a big problem or a little problem? Will it inspire or help many, or a few?
- Creativity: How creative/innovative is the approach? Is the project novel and something that hasn’t been attempted before, or is it an incremental improvement on something that already exists?
- Validity: Is the solution scientifically valid? Will it do what it sets out to do? Can it work in the real world?
- Relevance: Is this project responsive to the challenge for which it was submitted? Is it a complete solution or does it have a long way to go? Is it technically feasible? How usable or user friendly is the solution?
- Presentation:** How well did the team communicate their project? Were they effective in telling the story of the project: the challenge, the solution, and why it is important?

Space Apps is an international hackathon that occurs over 48 hours in cities around the world. Because of citizens like you, we continue to grow each year. If you haven't already, join us to share ideas and engage with open data to address real-world problems, on Earth and in space. Work alone or with a team to solve challenges that could help change the world.

Part of the Open Government Partnership, Space Apps is an annual event that pulls citizens together regardless of their background or skill level. Don't let the name fool you... it's not just about apps! Tackle a challenge using robotics, data visualization, hardware, design and many other specialties! Inspire each other while you learn and create using stories, code, design and, most of all, YOUR ideas. Show us your problem-solving skills and share your talents with the world!

Anyone who is in the Master’s in Analytics is welcome to register. Due to location capacities, the first 80 people to sign-up will be able to attend. Charles will be following-up with the initial registrations three days prior to the event to re-confirm attendance. Please only sign-up if you can commit to the full hackathon timeline.
