The SpaceApps Challenge

The NASA international SpaceApps challenge is an annual 48 hours hackathon organized by NASA and local hosts around the globe. The challenge address the great challenges we are facing on Earth and in space by connecting NASA's data with coders, makers, designers and dreamers around the world.
This year the hackathon will be held in Hong Kong for the first time!

This year's Hong Kong SpaceApps Challenge will be run in a "distributed" manner. All the participants are required to come to the City University of Hong Kong on October 18 (Friday) for registration and team forming, and they will be dismissed to work on their projects remotely. All teams must submit their finished projects by 7:00 AM, October 20 (Sunday) so our judging committee can shortlist the outstanding teams by noon. The shortlisted teams will then be invited to the City University of Hong Kong again for a final round of pitching and award ceremony.

In case of inclement situations on Sunday, we allow virtual pitching. Just send us your pitching/demo videos and let us know, and we will play the videos to the judges.
