¿Eres una persona curiosa o creativa? ¿Te apasiona la exploración del espacio, el medio ambiente o las necesidades de la sociedad? ¿Alguna vez pensaste en ser astronauta o trabajar en la NASA?

Si tu respuesta es afirmativa a alguna de las preguntas anteriores, queremos proponerte algo: nos gustaría que tú junto con tu equipo presentéis a la NASA una idea que dé solución a los múltiples retos que ellos afrontan diariamente. ¡Y no solo se buscan apps! Podréis serviros de hardware, software, diseño, robótica, visualización de datos y cualquier otra especialidad para crear tu proyecto. Suena bien, ¿verdad?

El Space Apps Challenge (programa incubadora de innovación de la NASA) aterriza por primera vez en Valladolid, organizado por everis Valladolid.

Durante un fin de semana, vamos a poner en marcha un hackathon desarrollado simultáneamente en todo el mundo, donde crearéis un proyecto para dar solución a alguno de los retos que la agencia propone. Además, NASA pone a vuestra disposición su base de datos recogidos en escenarios reales.

Aunque el hackaton propiamente dicho no comenzará hasta el sábado 19/10, el viernes calentaremos motores en un meet-up previo al evento en el que disfrutaremos de varias interesantísimas ponencias:

• Guillermo López-Reyes, responsabe científico de operación del instrumento RLS de la misión ExoMars de la ESA y participante en el desarrollo del instrumento SuperCam de la misión Mars2020 de la NASA, que enviarán sendos vehículos a Marte en 2020.
• Julián Fernández, estudiante de secundaria de 17 años y co-fundador y CEO de Fossa Systems, que trabaja, con la colaboración de everis, en el diseño y desarrollo de una red de picosatélites, utilizando la mentalidad open-source dentro del ámbito del "new-space".
• Ángel Sánchez Díaz, responsable de everis Espacio, vice-presidente ejecutivo de everis Aeroespacial y Defensa y CEO de i-deals.

Por otro lado, ya tenemos constituido el jurado que determinará los equipos ganadores de esta fase local:

• Benjamín Sahelices, Director de la Escuela de Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad de Valladolid.
• Patricia Fernández, Directora de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación de la Universidad de Valladolid.
• Óscar García, Jefe de Servicio de Infraestructuras Informáticas de la Dirección General de Telecomunicaciones de la Junta de Castilla y León.
• Rosario Chávez, Concejala de Innovación, Desarrollo Económico, Empleo y Comercio del Ayuntamiento de Valladolid.
• Miguel Ángel Hernández, Director de everis Castilla y León

Are you a curious or creative person? Are you passionate about the exploration of space, the environment or the needs of society? Did you ever think about being an astronaut or working at NASA?

If your answer is affirmative to any of the previous questions, we would like to propose something to you: we would like you and your team to present an idea to NASA that will solve the multiple challenges they face on a daily basis. It's not just about apps! You can avail yourself of hardware, software, design, robotics, data visualization and any other specialities to create your project. It sounds good, right?

Space Apps Challenge (NASA’s incubator innovation program) lands for the first time in Valladolid, organized by everis Valladolid.

During a weekend, we are going to launch a hackathon, developed simultaneously around the world, where you will create a project to solve some of the challenges that the agency proposes. In addition, NASA puts at your disposal its database collected in real situation.

Although the hackaton itself will not start until Saturday 19/10, on Friday we will warm up engines in a meeting prior to the event where we will enjoy several interesting presentations:

Guillermo López-Reyes, responsible scientist for the operation of the RLS instrument of the ExoMars mission of ESA and participant in the development of the SuperCam instrument of the NASA Mars2020 mission, which will send vehicles to Mars in 2020.
Julián Fernández, a 17-year-old high school student and co-founder and CEO of Fossa Systems, who works, with the collaboration of everis, on the design and development of a network of picosatellites, using the open source mentality within the scope of " new space".
