Azercosmos jointly with the ADA University and US Embassy is organizing local “NASA Space Apps” hackathon for the 1st time in Azerbaijan!

Space Apps is an international hackathon that occurs over 48 hours in different cities around the world. Coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists and everyone enthusiastic about curiosity engage with NASA’s free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in Space. Space Apps gives people the opportunity to bring projects to life for a wide range of applications.

The main aim of the project is to see what innovative, creative ideas can be brought to the community. Space Apps as a global event inspires collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, fosters interest in Earth and Space science and exploration, and encourages the growth and diversity of the next generation of scientists, technologists, designers and engineers.

We are planning to involve more than 100 participants (about 25 teams, 4 members in each) into the local “NASA Space Apps 2019” challenge.

International and local speakers and guests will be invited to the event to inspire the participants. Qualified experts as jury will be involved to assess the contestants. The event will be highlighted in social media and TV by the invited media representatives.

Go to our local “Space Apps” website to get more detailed information about the local event.

Winners and Gifts

All the participants will be presented with certificates.

The jury will determine winners of the local competition. 3 winner teams will be rewarded with certificates and cash prizes:

1st place winner - 10,000 AZN

2nd place winner - 5,000 AZN

3rd place winner - 2,500 AZN

Once the local winners are determined, up to two projects can be nominated by the jury to global judging.
