We are happy to announce that we will be hosting the Space Apps Challenge in Oran this year, organized by SpaceApps Oran team with ORIA Association & Niwa Coworking Space.
The participants will have to bring new ideas to make our planet better. This year, there are 5 challenge categories designed by experts from NASA:
- Earth's Oceans
- Our Moon
- Planets Near And Far
- To The Stars
- Living In Our World
Each challenge has a list of topics, learn more about them at 2019.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges
Requirements
You don't need any requirement, the hackathon is open for students, coders, artists, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, biologists..., and others.
Location:
This year, the event will take place at Niwa Coworking Space, near Place Hôche in Oran (see the map).
Date:
The hackathon will take place from 18 to 20 october 2019.
The participants can stay at night in the hackathon's location, or return to their homes if they want.
The hackathon is supposed to continue all night long, but participants have the freedom to manage their own time between working, resting & sleeping.
The closing ceremony will be public, its location will be annouced later.

Saturday, October 12th
Pre-event meetup (7 days before the hackathon)
The participants will be introduced to the hackathon rules, list of challenges, and how to use NASA Data.
This will be the opportunity for the participants to know each others, and meet some of their coaches.
Friday, October 18th
Hackathon starts
During the morning of the first day, the participants will build the teams, brainstorm their ideans and start working on their projectsLight conference session 1
First day ends. The participants can stay at the event's location or return to their homes during the night.
Saturday, October 19th
Sencond day starts
Light conference session 2
Light conference session 3
Second day ends. The participants can stay at the event's location or return to their homes during the night.
Sunday, October 20th
Free from 9am to 3pm, for those who need to go study/work.
Closing ceremony begins.
Keynote conference by our guest speaker.Teams will present their projects in front of the judges and 2 teams will get qualified to the next round for the international competition.
